  • www.chadd.org - CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is the nation's leading non-profit organization serving individuals with AD/HD and their families. CHADD has over 16,000 members in 200 local chapters throughout the U.S. Chapters offer support for individuals, parents, teachers, professionals, and others. CHADD was founded in 1987 in response to the frustration and sense of isolation experienced by parents and their children with AD/HD.

Baltimore and Maryland

  • www.nami.org – NAMI Maryland (NAMI MD), formerly called the Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Maryland, is an advocacy organization for family and friends of people with serious mental illness, and people who have a mental illness. They provide information and referrals to appropriate services such as family self-help support groups and mental health services for persons with serious mental illness and their family members.
  • www.mdlcbalto.org – MDLC The Maryland Disability Law Center is a private, non-profit organization staffed by attorneys and paralegals. MDLC is the Protection and Advocacy organization for Maryland. MDLC also provides assistance to parents of children with disabilities in the educational setting.
  • www.Speakforthem.org - SPEAK promotes the prevention of youth suicide and works to dispel the social stigma surrounding suicide and depression through a campaign of education and awareness at the community level.
  • www.Bcresponse.org - BCRI Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. provides the following crisis intervention services: hotline, crisis counseling, information and referral, mobile crisis team, in home support services, crisis residential program, training and consultation, public education, residential detoxification, and addiction services.
  • www.Bhca.org - Baltimore Health Care Access - A quasi-public agency of the Baltimore City Health Department, BHCA has the lead outreach and eligibility determination role for the Maryland Children's Health Program (MCHP). BHCA also offers the following programs and services: School Health Program – helps to ensure that every eligible school aged child has access to health insurance. (410) 649-6515.
